Ukay-ukay Wonders

Thrift shops or "Ukay-ukays" were the last shopping destinations I thought I'd find myself amazed with. I have nothing against "ukays" at all, it's just that I've never been successful in this place before. Oh well, that was way before. Now, I've already added this wonderful place to my "must shop at" list. Here are three of my latest looks working my wonderful finds from the famous "ukay-ukay". Don't you just love them? :p

Paris cropped top from Jellybean,
floral tiered skirt from a thrift shop,
pink sling bag from Nine West,
suede strappy platforms from Jellybean,
hand painted earrings from Jellybean (I got it for free, yay!)

Midi Skirts of the 70's

Midi skirts were a big trend during the 70's, along with maxi skirts, wide leg trousers, clogs, and a lot more. And it seems like all these big trends are on a big comeback this year. I'm actually loving the 70's look that I've tried looking into my Mom's and Tita's closets. Sad though because they've only got a few pieces left from those times when they were around my age. So what's a better place to go to aside from a vintage store? Yep, I went to another vintage store after my first successful Ukay trip. Oh well I'd say it's another successful trip to the Ukay and this skirt is the evidence. I bought this pretty box pleated skirt for only P80!!! Can you believe that? :p

Thanks to Kuya Guard for my pics. =p

Anyway, I'm really excited for the styling class I signed for this weekend. For some reasons I did miss Alyanna Martinez's celebrity styling class at the School of Fashion and the Arts last month so when I found out that there's going to be a batch 2, I headed to SoFA to get my slot. Thanks to my Mom for the sponsorship (hihihi). If there's anyone else interested to join the class, you may call or visit SoFA. :D

The UKAY Challenge

After re-doing my client's dress last week, I got so inspired that I tried my luck at the nearest UKAY-UKAY I knew of. I was never a fan of vintage shops before. I've tried a couple of times but I've never been amazed. In my previous attempts, I just ended-up having more clothes to give away. But this time, I found myself so amazed with the selection that I took around 10 clothes with me to the fitting room, haha! I got this pair of wide-leg electric pleated midi pants from my very 1st successful UKAY trip. I bought two more skirts with very interesting details too. :)

tassel clogs from Capital Vice by Soulier,

Here's another thing I'm looking forward to this month. I got myself this precious pass to Forever21's show for Fashion Week! Sad though because I had to break my piggy bank again just to get this invitation. But anyway, I'm excited and I so can't wait!!

I bought this super pretty pair of shoes from the store. Who would say no to such a beautiful pair? I can't wait to wear it! :)
