New Look

My hair has always been in a dark shade and this is actually the first time I tried a lighter shade. It's still dark but definitely something different. My camera isn't good enough though so you won't be seeing the real color of my hair now. I also had it chopped a few inches to remove the split-ends. So what do you think about my new look? :)

What I Wore:
knit top and booties from Nava,
black tank from Surplus Shop,
DIY denim cut-offs,
Binkydoodles braided necklace,
cat necklace and rings from Shoppe and Mix,
belt from SM Department Store

And I just want to share this. Laureen Uy here is wearing a lavender mullet skirt from my Bold Move collection. See the whole collection HERE. For more details about Laureen's look, do visit her blog. :)

Trend Report: Ombre

I know it's been a while since the Obmre trend came out as a fresh trend at Fashion Week and it even became a popular hair trend among Hollywood celebrities. But how I came-up with this look still has something to do with my resourcefulness. As I've mentioned in my previous blog post, I'm currently on a shopping ban and up to this day, I'm sticking-up to it. And I don't have plans of dropping my self-made rule until the month ends. So what's a girl to wear to a black and silver semi-formal party if all she has in her closet are colorful clothes and she's not allowed to shop either? Oh well, I survived my dilema somehow by accident or shall I say, coincidence. I've been thinking about what to wear to Kar Sison's 18th birthday since she already specified in her invitation that all her visitors should wear black or silver. So as I looked into my "baul" of fabrics for something useful, I was so happy that I had this gradient fabric. I bought it not so long ago during one of my trips to the famous "Palakpak" of Divisoria. I've actually forgotten about this fabric which I got for less than P50 a yard (what a great find!). I regret buying only 2 yards though but I thank myself for always stocking-up on random attractive fabrics. So anyway, here's the instant dress I made for myself. I had to do a simple pattern since I made the dress the day before I left for Manila. I'll post photos from Kar's birthday soon! :)

DIY: Make Your Own Accessories

This blog post is for the accessories I made just recently. As usual, I failed to document the processes but I promise that soon, I'll find time to do a step by step process on how these were made. I've been getting a lot of great ideas from Honestlywtf. Here are some images from one of my favorite DIY blogs. :)

Here's what I made as inspired by the two images above. These bracelets can also be worn as chokers (check the next image). And by the way, Honestlywtf is currently holding a blog give-away. Talk about perfect timing, I made these bracelets a week ago and this blog post has been a draft here but since I found out about the blog give away, I decided to finally edit and publish this post. And I'll be needing your help! If you like what I did and if you want me get their freebies, please help me by liking my entry!! Here's what you need to do:

1.) Like Honestlywtf on facebook by clicking here .
2.) Then like my entry here.

THANK YOU!

Here's another simple DIY project. I made this necklace to match the dress that I made for my final project in Sewing. I failed to document the process though so let me just do another similar project soon. Will post my pictures wearing this necklace with the dress soon. :)

Full Bloom

This day has really got something to do with flowers! First, I wore a floral robe which I made (this particular design will also be part of my next collection for Binkydoodles).

Ms Loida made her top too! :)

floral robe, made by me,
yellow green tank top from Pinky Binky,
shoes from Jellybean,
acid washed cut-offs from 168 Mall,
jade braelet from Mom,
rings and bangles from my secret place

Second, the fabric I used for my toiling project had flowers and rhinestones all over it. I worked on this project for 2 sessions that I almost gave-up on it. But hey, I'm finally done with it! Whew! I think by looking at it, you'd understand why I had so much stress doing this project (haha)...

And the highlight of the day- Shen's ukay-ukay! Being one of those who convinced her to do a closet clean-up, I was given the privilege to be one of the first to choose from her stuffs. Guess what I bought? The very cute floral shoes I'm wearing in the picture above! She never wore that pair, lucky me huh?! Aside from this really cute pair of Jellybean flats, I also bought from her another never worn pair of black peeptoes from Dorothy Perkins! I'm just lucky to have the same shoe size as hers, so there's no competition at all!  I actually wore a different pair but I just had to change since the shoes I bought matched my outfit so well. :)
Shen's trunk full of clothes, bags, and shoes!!! :)

Ms Loida bought all these bags!

Mom's Top + Trouser Project = Vintage Look

I finally got to wear my month old trousers which I made for our clown pant project. I made a top to match it weeks ago but I wasn't convinced enough that it looked good on me. Even if I don't have a full length mirror in my apartment, I just know what looks good and what doesn't. I had in mind a chiffon polo which I know would match my high-waist trousers perfectly. And guess where I found that top? From my Mom's closet (haha)! I don't have a sister to borrow clothes from. And  I never even considered sharing clothes with my Mom since her size is bigger than mine. But when I went home 2 weeks ago, I just opened Mom's closet (to check on whatever she left) and this polo was the very first thing I saw. When I tried it on, I thought it fitted me perfectly, so I asked for it from my Mom. And now I'm so loving vintage! And I guess I'm also getting closer to her size, haha. Next up, Mom's electric pleated midi skirt.. I'm still waiting for the perfect top to match it to fall in my hands!
