Yellow Belle

Hello you all!! With the temperature rising even higher this summer, here's another summer trend I know will be over used- light cape+sexy top+floral shorts. This kind outfit will definitely keep you  fresh and vibrant. When going to the beach, you can wear your bikini top or monokini with this cape and floral shorts plus flipflops. Or on a casual day at the mall this ensemble could be paired with cute flats. Of course I just had to wear heels this for this post. Haha. Anyway this cape was used by one of my bridesmaid models for my Wedding Belles fashion show last December. This design will be part of my summer collection (released in March) but this time, the capes will also be available in printed fabrics. I just thought of reviving this design since it's too summery. :p

This cape is also available in sky blue (at the moment). Contact me for orders.. :)

What I Wore:
chiffon cape, Binky Pitogo,
corset from Greenhills,
floral high-waist shorts from Next Jeans,
floral Mary Janes from Forever21
long pearl necklace from Binkydoodles

Neon Brights

It's almost summer and I know for sure that colors will go popping here and there in no time. So to officially start off, here's an outfit that's exaggeratedly colorful. I'm a color baby so I know I won't have a hard time adjusting and transforming my closet into a summer wardrobe. So I guess I'll just have to exaggerate most of the time?? Haha.

I'm releasing part 2 of my retasso accessories collection later and these bubblegum necklaces will be part of it.. Please watch-out for it. I'll have another generation of fringe and bow necklaces too.. :)

This bag matches my outfit so perfectly... My Mom bought this native bag with crochet details during her trip to Malaysia last year... Told you she gets me the best pasalubongs!! :)

I wore espadrilles to finish off my summery look! :)

What I Wore:
neon pink top from The Ramp,
orange shorts from Pink Clothes,
wedges from Janilyn,
Layered bubblegum necklaces from Binkydoodles,
native bag from my Mom,
belt from SM Accessories,
assorted bangles

Another thing, here are pictures of Laureen Uy wearing this poncho top from Binkydoodles. In her blog, she showed how this top can be styled in two entirely different ways.. Read more about her post HERE. :)

Watercolor Print Maxi Dress

After finishing my friend's maxi dress the other day, I was inspired to make my own too, so I picked the fabric I liked most from my Mom's "tela padala"........... and taaaahdaaaann! Instant maxi dress for me, haha! But first, here's what I made for my friend Astrid. :)

And here's what I made for myself.. :)

The Trend: Cropped Shirt

Cropped tops or cutoff shirts are one of the hot summer season's must haves. They are comfortable and easy to wear and are perfect for those who still want to stay stylish despite their busy and active lifestyles. These are very flexible pieces which works well with shorts, skirts, or even pants. Layering and accessorizing may also work in complimenting these summer basics. For those who are planning to travel and relax this season, don't forget to take at least a piece with you. Whether you're planning a beach, nature, or city trip, this will surely give you a break from your usual outfits. :)

I was at the fabric store to get some yards for my projects when I spotted this pretty shirt fabric. I bought 3/4 of a yard and made it into a cropped top as inspired by this trend. I wore it with a tank top inside since the fabric is see-through.

Our activity for the day was to pattern and sew clown pants. I opted for cotton linen since I wanted to make comfy pants that would at the same time look polished. Here's a sneak peak of what I made for the day. I'm making a top to match it. And I'll wear it too..... Soon.. :)

Brasilipinas Event

Here's a picture of me and my Mom during Christmas Eve (December 24, 2010). In this picture, she wore a pleated midi dress which she also designed (my Mom designs her own outfits too! cool huh?).. As usual, I loved her fabric so I asked her for the "retaso".

Now, check out what I did to Mom's "retaso". I wore this outfit last Friday. :)

electric blue bodycon skirt from Zara,
platform wedge from Charles and Keith,
leather bag from Liz Claiborne,
resin bangles from Cebu

The event was held at the Rockwell Tent. SoFA students from Ms Benet's Fashion Product Development class (which I'm not part of), plus Danika Navarro's collection (which was supposedly for the RISQ competition) opened the event with a fashion show. Here are some of the runway shots. I wasn't able to document everything though because I was far from the stage. Get ideas on what's hot this summer from the forecasts of my fellow SoFashionistas. :)
