We ♥ KK

For my first out of the country trip with friends (Nych, Nor, and Au), our destination was Kota Kinabalu. Also known as KK, Kota Kinabalu is the capital city of Sabah which is one of the states in Malaysia. We found out in our research that the city offers a variety of activities that are nature related. But since we only had 2 nights and 3 days to go around the city, our activities were compressed in a limited time frame. Our 2 nights and 3 days there felt like a week though for all the activities that we were able to do and for all the places we were able to visit. :)

Our flight was at 3:50pm so we arrived in KK at around 6pm. Tita Nanette and Tito Julius picked us up at the airport then we had dinner at a Japanese restaurant in Warisan Square. We completed our first night with crazey shoe shopping at Charles and Keith and VNC (my favorites!). Yiheeee

sleeveless top from Promod,
ruched cover-up from Forever21,
tweed shorts from Zara,
canvas shoes from Bata,
pink sling bag from Nine West (from BF),
Powcacke necklace,
animal print resin bangle from Cebu,
earrings from China (gift from Hae)

Our 2nd day was nature trip day. We drove to Mt. Kinabalu Park and proceeded to our first real hanging bridge experience at the Poring Canopy Walk. The experience was really fun and what made it even more challenging was that it was raining. We had to wear raincoats so we can move around freely. After our close encounter with mother nature, we dropped by One Borneo Mall for lunch.

For our evening activity, we celebrated Tito Julius and Tita Nanette's 36th wedding anniversary over uber yummy food at a Seafood restaurant. :)
Peacock print wrap dress from Binkydoodles :)

For our last day, we had breakfast at a Vietnamese restaurant called mint, and went on a city tour. After which we bought pasalubongs for our folks.

 top from Forever21,
bodycon skirt from Forever21,
pink sling bag from Nine West (from my dear BF),
shades from Fossil (also from BF) :)
flipflops from Ipanema
animal print resin bangle from Cebu,
faceted necklace from Padini

My first back-packing trip outside of the country with friends was definitely a blooper-fun trip. And for our future trips, we'll definitely apply what we've learned from this trip. This trip would not have been as much fun as it was if not because of Tito Julius and Tita Nanette. It was truly memorable and we are all looking forward to the next. :)
