Skulls, Studs and Spikes

Would you believe me if I tell you that it was my Mom who picked this top? We got this funky skull cropped top from the night market in front of Siam Paragon when we were in Bangkok. I don't think I would've bought this top if I was alone shopping at that time. You know how much I'm drawn to colorful and girly pieces, right? I'm not saying that I don't like it because I actually do. It's just that, it's really not my style and I wasn't sure if I can pull it off. I'm glad I got this though. Thanks to my Mom for voicing out that it was nice. I don't know what's with me these days but I'm suddenly drawn to dark and edgy pieces. Haha. And I realized it's really nice to have different things inside my closet because it leads me to experiment on different looks every once in a while. I paired my skull top with this pink studded shorts. I wore it only once and I'm selling it in my garage sale this Sunday so why not wear it for the last time? Haha. I thought it was perfect for my top too since it's high waisted. It actually saved me from showing too much skin. Haha.

Dancing Lady

When I saw this dress hanging at a store in Bangkok, I instantly fell in love with it. The print, the colors, the cut- just so perfect. And although there were too many pretty clothes in that mall, I didn't have second thoughts on buying this one. Who would? Aside from the fact that it was very cheap, I really loved how the floral prints were in gradient neons. This dress actually reminded me of the babydoll dresses I used to own when I was little. I used to style my pretty dresses with my favorite headbands and wear them to parties or church. The happy splash of colors in this dress didn't only take me back to memory lane, it even made me dance in the middle of the street.. See for yourself! Haha.

Bangkok Day 1

Hello everyone! I'm still here in Bangkok and here's what I wore the day we arrived. This outfit is something very comfortable yet hints of surprises can be found in the details. Take my shorts for example, they're just the typical kind of shorts except that it's made of gold faux leather. I can imagine wearing these shorts to events with heels but it can also be worn on casual days depending on how you style it. My top on the other hand looks simple in front but when I turn around, you'll see that it's sleeves continue as a cape at the back. And then the print on my bag, matches the print of my top, making it more interesting. And oh, the touches of gold matches my shorts too. Travel photos coming up in my next post.. :)

Photo Diary: Miri, Malaysia

Yesterday I went to a park, saw beautiful flowers and animals, took a lot of pictures, ate a lot of sushi, went shoe shopping, bought pasalubongs, had my passport stamped, and most especially, spent quality time with my parents. I really love it when they're not busy for work (nyahaha)! Anyway, here are the photos I took from our trip to Miri, Malaysia. Watch out for my outfit post tomorrow.. :)

Hong Kong Ocean Park

I'm officially in love with taking pictures! I still haven't had enough time to just sit down and get to know my camera that's why I take every opportunity I can to use it. On to the pictures, let me take you to another photo tour at one of Hong Kong's most popular amusement parks--- Ocean Park! The land area covered by the whole park is so huge that if you plan to visit and you want to make the most out of it, you should allot one whole day there. Hanah and I decided to go there after lunch since we didn't want to get burned by the heat of the sun. But because we were too curious about the shopping streets outside the Central subway station, we decided to go out first and take a look around. We found a couple of interesting shops there so we ended up arriving at the Ocean Park at 4pm. Thank God, sunsets take place at around 8pm, we were able to take pictures and enjoy the view. We were not able to go to the other parts of the park though since we were already too tired and it was already getting late. So this is what happens when you try so hard to squeeze everything in to your itinerary! Oh well, at least I've got a lot of reasons to look forward to coming back. :)

My view from the cable car. I love aerial views!

Tough Times

Whenever I feel down or pressured because of work, I always look back and think about everything I've been through. I think about how I ignored the people who have tried to discourage me. I think about how difficult it was to break into the industry I knew nothing about. I think about where I came from. I think about how no one knew me. I think about the people who have tried to get in the way. My life is an endless roller coaster ride, a big bowl full of risks. Nothing in my life is fixed or given. I don't get a fixed salary every month. Even my work schedule isn’t fixed. I work on weekends, holidays, I work even at night. But I like my life the way it is. I like how everyday is different. I like how I can’t predict what’s going to happen. If I don't take risks, nothing will happen. If I decline opportunities then I would never grow and become better. If I resist pressure then there will be no challenge. And if I don't move, then I wouldn't be anywhere. So when things get tough, I just think about how hard I fought for the freedom to do what I love to do and everything just falls back into place. :)
